Jesus has lain in the tomb since Friday evening. In the darkness of the night, a light shines forth. The Guards fled, the seal broken, the tomb is opens. It is empty. Rejoice. Alleluia. For Christ is risen from the dead, and death is no more. Death is swallowed up in this victory.
In this celebration, we light fire in the darkness, and proclaim Christ as risen. We rejoice in the new life given to us. Wehear how the women came to the tomb, early in the morning, and that it was empty. We Celebrate Mass as a celebration of these events.
